How To: Disable System Beep In Windows Vista

System beeps are those sounds you hear when an error message or an information/warning message appears.One of the small but annoying things in Windows Vista is the fact that the System Beep is enabled by default.

If you want to get rid of the annoying system beep in Windows Vista, do any of the following methods:

Method 1: Through Windows Vista Registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound

Warning: Modifying the Windows registry can cause serious damage to your Windows Operating System.It is better to backup your Windows registry data before making any changes. Tomstricks.com is not responsible for any changes you may make to your system.

Method 2: Through Device Manager

At the next restart, the Windows Vista System Beep will be disabled.

Thanks for solving a major problem for me. the Windows Help and Support screen continued to display on anything I did. I call HP support in India and they could not solve the problem. Wow, how simple. Thanks very much.
