How To: Disable Windows Vista Memory Diagnostic Tool
Some Notes About Windows Vista Memory Diagnostic Tool: Microsoft Windows Vista comes with a built in memory diagnostic tool. This utility program will diagnose your computer’s memory as to the cause of the problem and list the errors it finds. When the diagnostic tool is finished, Windows Vista boots regularly and the results are displayed in the lower-right-hand corner of your desktop. When testing your memory, if errors are found, the Windows Vista Memory Diagnostics Tool will attempt to determine which particular memory module in your computer is causing these errors. If that information is available, it will be stated in the results. Once it is enabled, this tool starts every time you restart your computer.
To Disable Windows Vista Memory Diagnostic Tool:
- Open Windows Vista Start Menu.
- Click on All Programs and Accessories.

- Click on Continue in the User Access Control (UAC) prompt.
- Then typing in the console: ”bcdedit /bootsequence {memdiag} /remove”(without quotes)
- Press Enter key to execute the command.
- Restart computer.

Hi just wanted to let you know that I was unable to remove with bootsequence written in the command line. However I found the solution was to use toolsdisplayorder in the command line in place of bootsequence.
