How To: Enable Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) Field In Windows Mail
The BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field enables you to sent mail to multiple targets without the list of recipients being displayed. What this mean is the recipient will only see the address in the “To” field and will not see any others. Thus, BCC can be employed in sending emails in bulk. Some mail programs have the BCC field enabled already; others do not.
Windows Mail is the free email client based on Outlook Express, that comes with the Windows Vista operating system. Windows Mail has a few added features including automated Junk e-mail filtering, easy search and a nice looking interface. Windows Mail has this field hidden by default, to unhide the BCC field, follow these steps:
- From Windows Mail, click Create Mail from the toolbar.
- The New Message window will now open
- In the New Message window click on View on the main toolbar and, from the drop down menu, select the All header option
- The BCC dialogue box should now appear in your email window
Once you turn BCC field on in Windows Mail, the change will apply to all new messages that you create henceforth.
