How To: Reinstall Windows XP in Unattended Mode
An unattended installation is a hands-free method of installing Microsoft Windows XP operating system, while keeping every installed applications and personal settings on the computer. How can this be done?
Unattended installation of Windows XP simple and easy, just follow these steps. Before moving ahead, make sure that CD-Rom is NOT your first boot device.
- Login to Windows XP and Insert you XP disk in your drive.
- Go to Command Prompt, and go to the drive (eg:- d:> assuming D is your CD drive.)
- Then go to i386 folder (d:/i386>) and type in the command prompt: “WINNT32 /unattend”.
You will then see a setup starts running, which reinstalls the Windows XP on your computer, without harnessing your installed application and settings, and that too in unattended mode.
