How To: Turn Desktop Preview Feature On Or Off In Windows 7
One interesting feature of Microsoft’s new generation operating system Windows 7 is the Desktop Preview which allows users to temporarily minimize open windows by hovering the mouse on the far-end of the taskbar. This Desktop Preview feature allows them to take a sneak-preview of the desktop without forcefully minimizing all open windows.
Some users might find this Windows 7 feature annoying as most old-school users would still prefer to fully switch to Desktop instead of just taking a preview. For them, there is even an option to disable the ‘Desktop Preview’ feature in Windows 7.This tweak will help you to turn Windows 7 Desktop Preview, also known as Aero Peak, On or Off to temporarily make all open windows on the desktop transparent when you place the mouse pointer on the button at the far right end of the taskbar.
- Right click on Windows 7 Taskbar and select Properties.
- Under Taskbar properties, uncheck the option labeled “Use Desktop Preview” and click Apply.
- Now you have disabled the Windows Desktop Preview feature. You can always enable the option by reversing the second step.
Note: You can also turn off Desktop Preview in Windows 7 by right-clicking on the small rectangle on the extreme right of the Taskbar and then by deselecting Preview Desktop option.
