Useful Google Chrome Extensions and Plugins

We live in an era of browser wars! Many many free browsers are available to us now – starting from old fashioned and outdated internet explorer to firefox to recent Google chrome. Its quiet easy that people gets confused to find difference between each of these  browsers. Usually they follow the human behavior “fear change” or in this case “unlikely to change” because there is theoretically no fear involved in switching a browser. Well in my opinion one should try new things. I have been using Firefox for a long period of time but recently made a switch to Google chrome. I really am fascinated about Google chrome now. Here am listing some useful Addons for your chrome browser.

#1 – Chrome Bird - A cool add on to manage Twitter notifications within your Chrome browser. You can share new articles, links and photos directly with this extension. An automatic URL shortener is another advantage.

#2- Awesome Screenshot – If you take screenshot often with your keyboard button – you know how tedious and annoying it is. Here comes a cool add on for your browser screenshot. They have numerous options for cutting, cropping, resizing and editing your screen shot. A beautiful extension for any browser but this one is for chrome only.

#3- Adblocker - Are you sucked up because of advertising? Because people usually say advertising sucks! Here is an extension for your Chrome browser that can block all unwanted advertisements. How ever here is a warning that this extension can slow down your browser a little. But still this is one of the most downloaded plugin of the webstore.

#4- Yahoo Messenger - A pretty useful plugin for any one who still uses this old, aged king of web chat :) Yahoo messenger was once used widely but not many people uses this service now with the advent of Google chat and Facebook. Still its useful for a Yahoo messenger user!

#5 – Google Chat Desktop Notification – A very useful feature of Google chrome built using HTML 5. This pops up a new window when ever an incoming chat occurs. Now on you will never miss a conversation because you were working on something else. It is not an extension or plugin, you just need to activate it! :)

Here is how – go to Settings-> General tab – then find section named “Desktop Notifications” – An image is shown below:

A personal note: I switched to Google chrome because of this special feature! :) And many people are doing so because of this. Google played it brilliantly – they have limited this feature to Google Chrome only!!

#6Meeting Scheduler for Google Calendar – An awesome extension for business people. It integrates automatically into your Google calendar and helps you to organise yourself efficiently. It even works well with your company’s Google app and helps you to organise and schedule business meetings.

#7 – Google Dictionary – A must have extension for any Google chrome user. This extension automatically checks for spelling errors in a webpage and helps you to make a draft online without spelling errors. It also comes handy when you want to know definitions of unknown words. A pretty useful application for your browser.
